We just had our cherry floors refinished and Robb from New Generations did a fantastic job!
We were thinking of replacing them but glad we didn’t! We love the finish and appreciate all the hard work!
Would definitely recommend this company!
The work they did on our floors was really incredible.
We had terrible hardwood floors that had spent years (decades?) languishing beneath carpet, asbestos tiles, and plywood. The wood had been painted in some sections, and was entirely missing in a few places.
These folks somehow got all of the paint off, and brought out the beauty in these old floors, as well as filling in the gaps with almost perfectly matched wood!
We were very impressed with quality and speed of the work.
Excellent results but needed to call attention to corners of one room for additional work. Risers on the staircases proved to be a challenge.
Finished product is very good.
Although hardwood floors are known for their long lifespan, it's essential to take steps to preserve your floors, like staining the wood and coating in polyurethane.
Many people opt to replace their flooring because they aren't happy with the appearance, but restaining hardwood floors is another option that will restore their visual appeal. Simply sanding and restaining hardwood floors is a great way to bring out the natural beauty of the original wood floor.
Hardwood flooring stains are offered in a wide variety of colors, so it's easy to match the decor throughout your home. A transparent stain is also an elegant option to consider, as it allows the natural wood grain patterns to shine through.
To further protect your new wood floor, it's best to layer a few coats of polyurethane over them.
This helps seal the wood from the effects of humidity and also protects the hardwood flooring against scratches and scuffs. Instead, with two to three coats of polyurethane, everything easily slides against the smooth surface of your new hardwood floor installation.
Polyurethane helps the wood last longer, prevents damage from furniture and reduces the need to repair hardwood floors in future.
Floor staining provides an additional layer of protection for your hardwood floors.
A spill here and there won't hurt your wood. However, constant exposure to moisture will make your wood floors warp and eventually split. Then, the only way you'll be able to enjoy beautiful floors again is by repairing or replacing them.
It's best to take a preventative measure like hardwood staining. When something spills on properly stained floors, the wood won't quickly absorb it.
UV rays can slowly damage your hardwood flooring.
The harsh rays from the sun can slowly fade away the color of your floors. Many hardwood stains have additional ingredients to help protect your floor.
When you invest in hardwood staining, you won't have to repair your hardwood floors due to fading or damage from the sun's UV rays.
